Year 8 Geography Ambassadors Explore Walton-on-the-Naze

Our Year 8 Geography Ambassadors recently enjoyed a well-deserved rewards trip to Walton-on-the-Naze in recognition of their outstanding effort and commitment to geography throughout the year.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to bring their classroom learning to life through hands-on fieldwork. They investigated how waves shape the coastline by carrying out a groyne drop survey, sketching a range of coastal defences, and observing the effects of coastal erosion firsthand.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing the remains of World War II pillboxes that now stand out at sea, offering a powerful illustration of how coastal erosion has transformed the landscape over time.

Throughout the trip, our Geography Ambassadors demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork and curiosity, making the most of every learning opportunity. We are incredibly proud of their positive attitude and the way they represented the school.
