Celebrating Student Success
This year’s results celebrate strong achievement and positive progress across both our A Level and Applied General pathways alongside several extraordinary individual stories of progress, reflecting our commitment to providing courses in which students with different strengths and aspirations can thrive.
Our A Level subjects have produced some exceptional outcomes. Psychology stands out for progress, with +1.1 value added and 100% of students achieving C+, while Physics delivered strong attainment, with 75% achieving B grades or above. In Mathematics, 58% of students achieved B+.
There have been particular successes within our BTEC Level 3 Applied Science provision, where 96% of students achieved the equivalent of a C grade or above and value added reached an impressive +0.7, which will place the school well above average nationally for student progress. This success reflects the strength of our Science department and gives us real confidence as we look ahead to the launch of our new BTEC Level 2 Applied Science course this September and the opportunities it will create for an even wider range of students.
Taken together, these results demonstrate positive progress across the curriculum and, importantly, show students achieving strongly through both A Level and Applied routes.
Student Success Stories
At Islip Manor, success is about more than results. It is about helping young people develop the confidence, ambition and resilience to take their next step with purpose. This year’s student stories show the impact of strong relationships, high expectations, personalised support and a close-knit school community. From students who have been with us since Year 7 to those who joined our Sixth Form from elsewhere in the UK and overseas, our students are progressing to leading universities, competitive courses, apprenticeships, employment and exciting future careers.
Maleeka | UCL, Physics
Maleeka, gained AAA in Biology, Maths and Physics. She joined in Year 9 after living in Lebanon and is progressing to UCL to study Physics. She credits “grit and perseverance” and the “constant, unwavering support” of staff for helping her succeed, saying her two years of determination have paid off.
Mark | a future in science
Mark received AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. He joined Islip Manor in Year 12 and valued the wider support offered by his teachers: “General guidance from teachers, not just academics but life support.” Mark is taking a gap year to gain valuable work experience while exploring future career and study opportunities.
Joella | SOAS, Law
Joella achieved BBB in Psychology, Economics and Business. She joined from Nigeria in Year 12 and is progressing to SOAS to study Law, aspiring to become a solicitor. She praised the school-funded UpLearn tuition and personalised support: “They never turn you away when you need help.”
Amani | Queen Mary, Economics and Politics
Amani, an Islip Manor student since Year 7, who came to us from Downe Manor primary school, is progressing to Queen Mary to study Economics and Politics. She describes the school as a “close-knit family”, adding: “I stayed for the teachers – I knew they were good.”
Gagandeep | Family business
Gagandeep is celebrating BBB in Chemistry, Maths and Physics. He joined in Year 8 after moving from Scotland and will now enter his family’s electronic-parts wholesale business, with ambitions to become a partner. He valued the school’s community: “Teachers have supported me; there is open dialogue with the teachers.”
Aleksander – | Brunel University, Mechanical Engineering
Aleksander is very happy with his A in Maths and B in Physics, an Islip Manor student since Year 7 who joined us from Willow Tree primary school and is progressing to Brunel to study Mechanical Engineering. He praised teachers for “always advocating for me”.
James | Sports Science
James attained D*DD in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. He joined the Sixth Form on our Future Stars pathway and plans to pursue sport and sports science. James praised the individual support that helped students understand “how to aim high”, adding: “We wouldn’t have secured these successes [without it].”
Jumana | University of West London, Accounting and Finance
Jumana celebrates D*DD in BTEC Applied Science, an Islip Manor student since Year 7, who joined us from Petts Hill primary school, she is progressing to the University of West London to study Accounting and Finance. She describes Islip Manor simply as: “Family – part of one big family.”
Anousha | Biomedicine
Anousha gained D*D*D in BTEC Applied Science. She joined the Sixth Form from Swakeleys School for Girls and plans to study Biomedicine. She says she received “all the support she needed” and describes Islip Manor as a “small community” and “family”.
Uthman | Automotive sales, analytics and finance
Uthman received D*DD in BTEC Applied Science, an Islip Manor student since Year 7, who came to us from Petts Hill primary school, will work at a car dealership before exploring an apprenticeship. He credits Sixth Form with developing his “independence” and “discipline” and says positive relationships made school “a lot more enjoyable”.
Neelab | Brunel University, Law
Neelab received D*DD in BTEC Applied Science and is progressing to Brunel to study Law, with ambitions in corporate and business law. She praised the personalised approach: “Teachers support you with everything – 1:1 if you need it.”
Leo | University of Hertfordshire, Pharmacy
Leo achieved D*D*D in BTEC Applied Science. He started with us in year 7 from Wood End primary school. He is progressing to his first-choice university, Hertfordshire, to study Pharmacy and hopes to become a hospital pharmacist. He praised the “great environment” and access to resources such as dedicated teachers that helped him achieve his grades.
Mubarak | University of Hertfordshire, Medical Science
Mubarak, who previously studied in Nigeria, is progressing to Hertfordshire to study Medical Science. He said: “Teachers have supported me in my studies – when I ask questions, they take the time and care to work through them individually with me.”
Sarvjeet | Kingston University, Pharmacology
Sarvjeet received D*DD in BTEC Applied Science. He joined after previously living in India and Portugal and is progressing to Kingston to study Pharmacology, with ambitions for Master’s and PhD-level study. He describes Islip Manor as “very supportive” with a “kind, good environment”.
Hodan | Therapeutic Radiography
Hodan plans to pursue Therapeutic Radiography, inspired by supporting patients undergoing chemotherapy. She values the positive relationships with teachers and described receiving her results as feeling “happy – on top of the world”.
Ridha | Kingston University, Pharmacology
Ridha successfully secured the grades to study Pharmacology at Kingston, with future ambitions in medicine manufacturing and entrepreneurship. He particularly valued “small classes, 1:1 interactions” and personalised teacher support.
Ghaith | Medicine ambitions
Ghaith, one of our year 12 Islip Manor students is celebrating an A in AS Level Biology. He has been with us since Year 7, is celebrating an A in AS Biology and plans to pursue Medicine after completing his A Levels. He praised the genuine care of staff: “The relationship has genuine care behind it… it’s such amazing support.”
